China Aerospace Day丨Xichang Satellite Launch Center prepares for high-density launch missions
Today (24th) is China's seventh China Aerospace Day, and a variety of celebrations are being held across the country. And the aerospace people at Xichang Satellite Launch Center will spend the holiday at their posts today.
Xichang in April, surrounded by a sea of flowers, the aerospace people working at Xichang Launch Complex are working feverishly. 9 days ago, they have just successfully launched the Zhongxing 6D satellite into the sky, and then quickly put into the preparation of the next mission.
Xichang Satellite Launch Center, deputy director of the Planning Department Wang Zhong: this year, the center of the Xichang Launch Complex multi-star, multi-arrow parallel testing is still the norm, starting in May, an average of two missions per month, followed by careful preparation, careful organization, careful implementation, to ensure that high-density mission successive successes, all the war win.
Walking into the Wenchang launch site, the blue sea, blue sky, coconut breeze, science and technology workers are fully prepared for the upcoming Tianzhou IV cargo spacecraft launch mission. At present, the Long March 7 rocket and the Tianzhou 4 cargo spacecraft are carrying out assembly and testing work at the launch site as planned.
Chen Rijun, mission scheduler, Wenchang Launch Site Planning Division: Since the successful resumption of the flight of the Long March 5 Remote 3 rocket in 2019, we have entered a high-density mission period at the Wenchang Space Launch Site, and it has become the norm for us to work at our posts on holidays. On this special day of Space Day, fighting at the post and doing our duty at the post is the most meaningful way to celebrate for us.
Tianzhou IV Cargo Spaceship Launch Mission Commander Wang Yuliang: Currently, the Tianzhou IV Cargo Spaceship Launch Mission has entered the final sprint preparation stage, and all the tests and launch preparations are being carried out in an orderly manner, so we will be prudent and meticulous, and strive for excellence to ensure that the Tianzhou IV mission will be a complete success.
Space exploration never ends, and the journey of dreaming is a long way to go. In the face of the test of high-density space launch tasks this year, Xichang Satellite Launch Center has made scientific overall planning and closely organized the implementation to ensure that the launch tasks are foolproof.
Zhao Xin, Director of Human Resources Department of Xichang Satellite Launch Center: This year, Xichang and Wenchang will carry out more than 20 space launch missions in total, and subsequently, Tianzhou IV and V cargo spacecrafts, as well as Qitian and Mengtian experimental modules will be launched from our Wenchang Space Launch Complex, which is a great responsibility with a mountainous mission. We will strengthen our mission bearing, make innovations and breakthroughs, and comprehensively enhance our modernized space launch capability.
